In
this section, we will discuss the process of the Detox Protocol. Note, if you are pregnant, you are
advised to wait until you have your baby and finish nursing before you begin any
type of detox protocol.
What
is detoxification? Detoxification
is the process in which your body eliminates or neutralizes toxins from the
body. When you are healthy, and
your lymphatic system, bowel, kidneys, lungs, gall bladder and liver are
functioning properly, your body does this automatically and does not need any
help with detoxification from you beyond feeding your body healthy foods,
staying sufficiently hydrated, avoiding excessive toxins, and keeping emotional
balance by providing yourself with unconditional love and acceptance. However, when our bodies become
imbalanced for any amount of time, the organs and lymphatic system can no longer
detoxify efficiently, and the result is that toxins build up inside of us, get
stored in our fat, organs, and brain, and we become chronically ill in any
number of various ways, depending upon where the greatest weakness exists in
our bodies.
It
is at this point when we must realize that we need to help our bodies with the
detoxification process. It helps to
think about an automobile. You
change your oil and filter.
Why? Because sediment is
deposited in the oil over time, and the oil becomes
thick, building up sludge. This not
only affects your car’s performance, but it also causes engine
failure. Your car can’t
change its own oil and filter. It’s something we have to do. In the case of our bodies, our bodies
can and do “change our oil and filters,” so to speak, by way of
natural process, when we are healthy
– however – when too much sludge, or toxicity, has built up in our
blood, cells, organs, tissues, brain, and lymphatic system, bodily performance
is adversely affected, and we develop symptoms that are thought of as diseases. If we don’t help our bodies
detoxify, we die.
So
how do we go about helping our bodies detoxify? We are going to discuss a few methods of
detoxifying over the next few pages.
We’ll begin with lymphatic support, and then move on to each of
the cleanses – the bowels, the parasites, the kidneys and lungs, the
liver and gall bladder, the candida, the heavy metals, and then we will finally
end with a discussion of how to maintain your health once you have detoxified.
I’d
like to take the time now to explain something about detoxification that people
often forget to mention about the process.
Like childbirth, the rewards of the process are such that it’s
easy to forget the unpleasantness you went through before attaining the
rewards. As you go through the Detox
Protocol, poisons and toxins will be moving throughout your body, and you may
expect to feel unwell both physically and emotionally at times. The more toxic you
are, the more unpleasantness you can expect to experience. You may feel tired and unable to keep up
with the demands of your life. Be
prepared to feel overly-emotional, insecure, moody, and downright
“cranky” sometimes.
There will be times when you may even feel like you’re going crazy
as you go through detoxification.
This is normal, and in fact, this means that your detox is working. However, you may feel the need to
minimize your exposure to other people and demands at times during this
process. Understand that you are
not going through a personality change.
You are still you. Do not
berate yourself if you snap at a loved one or feel like you want to throw
something for no reason. Do not
induce self-blame if you react badly to a person or situation during the Detox
Protocol. You need to understand
that this is part of the detoxification process. It is very important that you think of
yourself positively at all times, and love yourself unconditionally. Do not blame yourself for the discomfort
you are feeling while you go through your Detox Protocol. This discomfort is temporary and will
improve as you become toxin free.
Help your loved ones to understand this process, as they may not
understand why you may not seem to be yourself at times. Detoxification is a crucial process to
your entire body, mind, and spirit.
If it becomes unbearable, slow your detoxification down. Always drink plenty of pure water to
help flush the toxins out of your body, engage in relaxing activities as often
as you possibly can, and above all else, support your lymphatic system
throughout this process. While the
lymphatic support step is listed here as your first step, I want you to
understand that this is also the never-ending step. You will not stop your lymphatic support
when you reach step 2. You will
always continue supporting your lymph system. The next page will give you my best
pointers on how to support your lymph system during your detox.
